So I grew up in the 80's, yep, back when MTV was a real music channel and kids used to scratch their knees while playing outside! Back in those days the idea of giving a gift card was... kind of unknown.
Today, that's a different picture.
You will never find us, Cielo Gift Baskets, "talking trash" about gift cards and/or gift cards givers, since we are loyal promoters of all shades of gratitude, kindness, love, gifting, and care, but you will find us pushing your gifting skills a little more.
Please allow me to explain myself: we believe that, yes, a gift card is a nice and thoughtful gift, as long as it's accompanied by something else, and by something else we mean, fun snacks the gift recipient enjoys, customized home items, some great wine and cheese, delicious hummus and crackers, etc.
Gift card givers have had the bad reputation of being impersonal or lazy givers. If you are a gift card giver, please know that we do not feel that way about you, we just feel we can help you! You are on the right track, the gifting track, you just need to tweak it a little more, and that's where we come in.
The holidays are here, they are not around the corner, they are not arriving soon, they are here, and the time to get ready is NOW! So, think about all those important clients, potential clients, great partners, amazing donors, essential investors, helpful members of your community, accountable employees, wonderful friends and family members, you would like to put a smile on their faces, tell us which store you'd like to do a gift card for, we will get it for you, add it to a gorgeous, customized gift basket, and we will even deliver it right to their home or office, all because you CARE about them ... Happy Holidays and let's give away gratitude and kindness!
Sometimes, when we attend networking events or meet new potential clients, I ask:
"so what are you currently giving to your customers and/or partners" and many times the response is: "nothing". To be honest with you all, this doesn't surprise me. Many individuals/companies do not see the need for "gifting", UNTIL ..... they see the amazing results!

My childhood was absolutely perfect, the only thing that was missing was a pet,,, boohoo, how "miserable" we were! Our parents were just normal, middle-class people, that worked hard to give their 3 daughters a good, healthy life, and God knows they certainly did.
I remember, from a very early age, my Papa, taking me to the nearest town, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, on Christmas week, and telling me: "Chiqui, today is YOUR day, you can choose whatever doll, accessories for her, clothing, anything!" oh my God, was I the happiest little girl on Earth or what?!
My Mama, on the other hand, would not indulge me in the madness of consumerism! ;) She would instead focus on the small details .... the pretty pink ribbon tied on a book, or the sweet, sudden "no reason" note left for me next to my toast in the morning saying "I love you, have an awesome day!"
Throughout my life, I had enjoyed to give gifts, way more than receiving them, and I have been able to combine both of my parents styles. So, when I finally decided to start my own business, I made the commitment of transmitting the same joy, the same peace my parents showered me with growing up, and there was only one way to do that, with a GIFTING business ... so there you have it, that was my reason ...
